Wellhead Protection Program
Lower Elkhorn NRD provides assistance to Public Water Suppliers by helping to develop wellhead protection plans and wellhead protection area management.
The Lower Elkhorn NRD provides public water suppliers with information about wellhead protection planning and encourages them to pursue wellhead protection area delineation and contaminant source inventory completion. The Lower Elkhorn NRD also provides groundwater quality and quantity data collection; vadose zone monitoring and enhanced cost-share with the Water Programs Cost-Share Program in Wellhead Protection Areas.
